Tesco is inviting three million customers to take part in “Clubcard Challenges” which consists of 20 personalised tasks and allows you to get an extra £50 worth of extra Clubcard points – but there is a way to double this
Tesco is shaking up its Clubcard loyalty scheme and some shoppers will have the opportunity to win up to £100 worth of points.
The supermarket is inviting three million customers to take part in “Clubcard Challenges” which consists of 20 personalised tasks. For example, customers will be asked to “spend £20 on our Summer BBQ range over the next six weeks” or “spend £10 on plant-based meals”. Shoppers can choose the 10 tasks they most want to complete and they’ll get a maximum of £50 worth of extra Clubcard points if they finish them all.
But customers can increase these extra points to £100 if they spend them with a Tesco reward partner. There are over 100 reward partners to choose from, including Cineworld, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Zizzi. “Clubcard Challenges” will start on May 20 and run for six weeks.
Tesco is working with EagleAI to deliver the personalisations for the new scheme. Lizzie Reynolds, group membership and loyalty director at Tesco said: “We are constantly looking for ways to make Clubcard work harder for our customers. With Clubcard Prices on around 8,000 products, it is saving customers up to £360 off the annual cost of their groceries.”
It comes after Tesco shoppers were warned to beware of a scam email claiming to offer a £500 gift card. The email links out to a dodgy survey website which asks you to answer a few questions for the chance to “win” a Tesco gift card. But the gift card doesn’t exist and the email has nothing to do with Tesco. The survey is a way for the scammers to obtain your personal and financial details. Which? flagged the email in its latest scam alerts release.
The fraudulent email reads: “Win a £500 Tesco Gift Card! Shop til you drop with this generous gift card from Tesco, your one-stop destination for groceries, household essentials and more. Enter now for your chance to indulge in a shopping spree!” A Tesco spokesperson said: “This online competition is fake and has nothing to do with Tesco. We are investigating this and urge customers to remain vigilant to these types of scams and phishing emails.”
