The Kids Eat Free scheme has been extended by the major UK supermarket to include weekends throughout the summer with no minimum spend for adult purchases
Tesco has announced a new 65p rule across hundred of stores, meaning that kids can eat for free.
The major UK supermarket has extended its Kids Eat Free scheme to include weekends for the first time.
The deal runs from June 25 until September 1 and entitles children to free meals in over 330 participating Tesco stores.
Youngsters will be able to receive a free Kids Hot Meal Deal, Kids Breakfast or Kids Pick ‘n’ Mix deal with any full-price adult purchase when bought with a Clubcard.
There is no minimum spend for the adult purchase and there is also no limit on the number of kids’ meals that can be redeemed.
The adult purchase could be something as small as an apple costing just 65p, according to Tesco.
Menu items include breakfast options such as Pancakes and Egg and Soldiers as well as main meals including Chicken Strips, Fish Fingers and Pork Sausages.
The price of children’s meals in The Café and The Coffee Shop have also been lowered, due to the government’s decision to slash VAT across children’s meals and activities this summer.
Claire De Silva, head of communities at Tesco said: “We know that household budgets can be really stretched, especially over the long summer holiday, so offering free meals to children during this time is just one of the ways we can support families.”
The supermarket is also set to bring back Free Fruit for Kids over the summer period.
At over 800 Tesco stores children will be able to grab a free apple whilst their parents shop.
