Weight loss jabs have become the worst weight loss secret, with many people opting for the flab-busting jabs – but according to experts, there are some key signs someone may be on them
Those who are taking weight loss jabs might tend to not shout about it, but according to experts, there are some key tell-tale signs that will give it away.
The injections have taken the world by storm, helping people shed weight much easier than before, while also improving their health.
Known as Hollywood’s “worst kept slimming secret,” the use of the jabs has been rife among celebrities to help shed the pounds, with Donald Trump at the centre of speculation over his recent weight loss.
The president is known for his love of fast food and takeaways, so it raised some eyebrows when, during his Presidential campaign last year, he lost 30lbs, insisting he’d managed it “the hard way” as he was “too busy to eat”.
However, people aren’t convinced, as one X user penned: “That Ozempic is doing wonders for Donald Trump,” while another simply said: “President Donald J. “Ozempic” Trump.”
Bruce Aronwald, Trump’s personal physician, said the President’s health was “excellent” during his rigorous campaign schedule. He said Trump “reduced his weight through an improved diet and continued daily physical activity, while maintaining a rigorous schedule”. But Mr Aronwald did not reveal Trump’s vitals, including weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, or any medication that he is on.
Many Brits are turning to the jabs as a “quick fix” to get bikini body ready, and while you usually need a prescription to access the drug, many people are buying them from online pharmacies. The drug semaglutide is the reason for the weight loss, but people have been sharing online side affects of taking it.
The ‘Ozempic butt’ has been going viral online, and one of the key signs someone may be taking injections. Someone taking them may start to lose their curves, as the drug alters the brain’s appetite regulation so people don’t have as many food cravings, leading to weight loss . However, the weight loss will be all over, not just from the belly. People have also reported their breasts getting smaller and bums getting flatter too.
The flab-busting jabs are altering faces, curves and entire body shapes, but experts say this can happen with any type of weight loss, not just the injections.
Sharon Osborne candidly opened up about her experience and said she’d lost “too much weight”, telling Mail Online she’d lost “almost half” of her body weight. She also confessed she had “flesh hanging everywhere” and that her breasts were “flat and sagging”. The 71-year-old said she had to undergo a number of cosmetic procedures to fix the unwanted side effects.
Robbie Williams also credited weight-loss jabs with his recent transformation. He told The Times, “Babe, I’m on Ozempic. Well, something like Ozempic. It’s like a Christmas miracle.” Robbie, 51, said he has a hard time liking how he looks and that this drug has really helped him feel better. “And I need it, medically. I’ve been diagnosed with type 2 self-loathing. It’s shockingly catastrophic to my mental health to be bigger,” he said.
Robbie also shared that he’s lost about 25lbs.
Another key change is that people may start to get a gaunt face, which has been nicknamed ‘Ozempic face’ and it can lead to sunken eyes, gaunt cheeks and saggy skin. It can also lead to people looking older. Nutritionist Rose Ferguson told the Times more and more of her celebrity clients have been ‘freaking out’ about developing so-called ‘Ozempic face’ from weight loss drugs.
She said a number of people have told her they’re concerned about their faces transforming while on the jabs, which can happen if they have taken them or taken too much of dose.
Dr Smita Ramanadham, a plastic surgeon in New Jersey, told Daily Mail: “Ozempic face is essentially the same characteristics that we see when patients have rapid or regular weight loss. We see a loss of volume in the face, and when we lose fat in the face we see signs like the cheeks are more sunken in, more sagging skin and a general hollowing out of the features.
‘Sometimes, it can have the effect of actually making a person look older — because the fat in our cheeks is what gives us a more youthful look. You can see a hollowing under the eyes and the cheeks and more wrinkles appearing because of a loss of volume. With Robbie, you can see the direct results of weight loss.”
