A teenage boy has been arrested in connection with the crash
A teenage girl has died in hospital after being hit by a scrambler bike in Dublin. The girl was a pedestrian and had been seriously injured in the crash on Sunday afternoon and has since died in hospital.
Gardai said they were called to Finglas, Dublin at around 2.20pm on Sunday afternoon, January 25. Emergency services were alerted to a collision between a scrambler motorcycle and a pedestrian on Ratoath Road.
The pedestrian, a teenage girl, was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of her injuries but, tragically, she died in hospital later that evening.
Meanwhile, an adult male and a teenage boy who were thought to be on the scrambler bike were also hospitalised with injuries that are not life-threatening.
Gardai have confirmed that a teenage boy has been arrested in connection with the incident. He is currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in the Dublin Region, reports the Irish Mirror.
A technical examination of the scene has been carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road has since been reopened to traffic.
