Police have launched an appeal after reports a teenage girl was approached by two men and sexually assaulted in Exmouth.
The victim was allegedly attacked in the Gipsy Lane area on Thursday. It was reported to Devon and Cornwall Police that two males approached the girl and sexually assaulted her between 4pm and 5.30pm. The victim is being supported by specially trained officers as the force carry out enquiries.
Officers are now asking anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage that could help with enquiries to get in touch, reports Devon Live.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Detectives investigating a report of sexual assault in Exmouth are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
“We received a report of a sexual assault against a teenage girl in the area of Gipsy Lane, Exmouth, on the afternoon of Thursday 7 May, with the incident taking place between 4pm and 5.30pm.
“It was reported two males approached the victim and sexually assaulted her. She is being supported by specially trained officers while enquiries are being carried out.”
