Five teens have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead.
Cleveland Police officers were called to Egglescliffe Close in the Hardwick area of Stockton at around 6:50pm on Saturday. A 49-year-old man was found dead at the scene.
A 19-year-old man, two 18-year-old men and two 17-year-old boys were arrested overnight on suspicion of murder and taken to police custody, TeessideLive reports.
A witness said that on Sunday morning there were four police cars, with a section of a car wash and bushes cordoned off. Police had been at the scene since around 8.00pm.
Cleveland Police said: “Five people have been arrested overnight on suspicion of murder, following an incident in Stockton yesterday evening. Officers were called to an address on Egglescliffe Close in Stockton at around 6:50pm on Saturday, January 10, where a 49-year-old man was found deceased.
“A 19-year-old man, two 18-year-old men and two 17-year-old boys have been arrested overnight on suspicion of murder and taken to police custody.
“We are aware of footage relating to this incident circulating around social media sites. Please do not share this footage any further, as this could impact on legal proceedings. You can upload footage anonymously here.”
