The Hilton Hotel at Stansted Airport has been evacuated due to a fire – this is a breaking story
A popular airport hotel was forced to evacuate after a fire broke out on the third floor of a building.
Firefighters were called to the Hampton by Hilton Hotel at Stansted Airport just before 10.30am. Crews confirmed a fire on the third floor of the building, which has hundreds of rooms for guests.
The hotel was evacuated as a precaution while firefighters worked to put out the blaze and ensure the site was safe, Essex Live reports.
All staff and guests were accounted for and there were no reports of injuries. The fire was extinguished by 11.15am, around 30 minutes after firefighters arrived at the scene, a spokesperson for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said.

Crews remained at the hotel to ventilate the building using high-pressure fans to clear smoke. An investigation to determine the cause of the fire is underway.
Station Manager Dan Byatt said: “We worked very closely with Stansted Airport, Essex Police and other partner agencies to manage the incident and ensure flights were not missed.
“Thanks to the quick actions of crews and our partners, we were able to bring the fire under control quickly and ensure everyone remained safe.”
The Hampton By Hilton at London Stansted Airport is a five-minute walk from the hub’s terminals.
It comes after a building next to Glasgow Central station caught fire, causing major travel disruption.
The 19th century building partially collapsed following the blaze on Sunday night, including a dome which caved in.
Many businesses have been destroyed in the fire and nearby hotels were evacuated and roads were sealed off.
