Sky Sports darts pundit Mark Webster has spoken out for the first time since stepping away from presenting duties due to an undisclosed medical condition
Darts pundit Mark Webster has provided a health update following his recent announcement that he would be stepping away from the sport temporarily.
The 42-year-old has become a familiar presence on Sky Sports’ darts coverage, featuring regularly throughout the World Championships and the Premier League. Webster was also unveiled as part of a new ITV broadcasting team earlier this year.
The Welshman has been forced to withdraw from his broadcasting commitments after revealing he is undergoing treatment for an undisclosed medical condition. Webster shared the news last week and has since been inundated with messages of support and encouragement from colleagues and supporters alike.
In his first appearance since confirming his temporary absence, Webster featured on the latest edition of Sky Sports’ Love The Darts podcast alongside Michael Bridge and Colin Lloyd.

Before discussing the upcoming action ahead of week five in the Premier League at Cardiff, conversation shifted to Webster’s situation, reports the Daily Star.
The two-time World Championship semi-finalist said: “Something cropped up and I’m having a bit of treatment and slowly it seems to be working.
“Hopefully in another month it will be reassessed and I’ll be hoping to get back. I’ve missed far too much already and I want to get back. At least I get to chat to you guys so it’s nice to sort of be involved.”
Webster went on to express his gratitude for the support, saying: “I’ve had some nice messages over social media. It’s been really nice and as much as I like watching the darts, it’s not the same as being involved so I’m quite eager to get back.”
Webster lost his PDC Tour card in 2019 and has since attended Q-School, attempting to reclaim his place on the circuit, though ‘The Spider’ has been unsuccessful in doing so. The 2008 BDO world champion has subsequently established himself as one of the most respected analysts on Sky’s coverage.
