‘Sky Glass Air is ideal for those who want the best content and a TV that delivers a great audiovisual experience’
Sky’s flagship smart TV has been reduced to less than £5 and has experts branding it as ‘no lightweight’ despite its budget-friendly price. Sky launched its 2026 winter sale earlier this month, offering discounts across its entire TV and broadband range.
One standout deal is for the Sky Glass Air, the latest version of Sky’s own smart TV with built-in Sky channels and streaming apps that rivals Freely models. Usually priced at £6 when spread over 48 months, customers can get it for £4.25 if they order by February 11.
This works out at roughly 14p per day for the 43″ model, with larger 55″ and 65″ models available for an extra cost. One caveat is that new customers will need to bundle the device with a Sky TV package like Essential TV or Ultimate TV, which offer up to 140 channels along with complimentary Netflix and Discovery+ subscriptions.
Customers also have the option to add on extras such as Sky Cinema, Sky Sports, TNT Sports and ad-skipping. Sky introduced its Air TV in June as a slimmer, more affordable alternative to the second-generation model, the Sky Glass Gen 2, which is currently on sale for £10.25.
Similarly to many Freely TVs, each model operates via WiFi rather than a satellite dish, making setup straightforward – users simply need to plug it in and connect to the internet. The difference between the models is that the Air sacrifices some premium features for a significantly cheaper package, reports the Daily Record.

Shoppers can get their hands on the new Sky Glass Air smart TV from £4.25 per month when paired with a Sky TV package.
For households exploring alternatives, Virgin Media offers broadband and TV bundles from £28.99. EE also provides TV and high-speed internet packages starting at £16.
But tech experts have said the Sky Glass Air is ‘ideal’ for shoppers seeking ‘a great audiovisual experience at a relatively affordable price’. Uswitch’s Nick Baker tested the Air for three weeks and said that, despite its lower price tag, it’s ‘no lightweight’.
In his YouTube review, Nick said: “While the Sky Glass Air is lighter in weight than other models, it’s no lightweight when it comes to tech specs. The 4K Quantum Dot panel gives vivid colours and strong clarity for both streaming and live TV.
“Its auto-enhance setting adjusts the picture [and] sound based on what you’re watching, but there are a number of dedicated picture modes [including] Entertainment, Sports, Movies, Music, Vivid and Extra Vivid. Audio is probably the most significant compromise that Sky Glass Air makes in comparison to Gen 2.
“While it lacks the built-in soundbar of its big brother, it still has Dolby audio and a two-speaker stereo system inside that optimises sound. I experienced good depth of quality and clear dialogue, so no muffled [or] tinny sounds.”
However, Nick highlighted a potential drawback of the Sky Glass Air, saying: “If you’re used to a more immersive cinema experience, you won’t get that with Sky Glass Air. Luckily, you can easily stream Dolby Atmos to a compatible soundbar if you want that full cinema experience.
“One of the best features about Sky Glass is the Sky OS interface, which brings together content from Sky channels and streaming services all in one place. The more you watch and add things to your playlist, the more Sky OS learns and can give you better recommendations.
“If you want access to the best TV content in the UK [and] a sleek, good looking TV that delivers a great audiovisual experience at a relatively affordable price, Sky Glass Air is ideal. However, if you’re a gamer or someone who takes home cinema very seriously, you might consider splashing out on the Sky Glass Gen 2.”
