Some people will be eating gammon and brie well into 2026 judging from the pictures
Shoppers have said they are ‘running towards’ Aldi after the prices were slashed with many meats and cheeses on New Year’s Eve. Taking to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group on Facebook, people were posting up their prizes – and some will be eating a lot of gammon in the new year!
Items which were full price until today include gammon joints, turkey crowns, Boursin cheese, blue cheese, various platters of starters, olives, and cocktail sausages. Depending on the stores, more are available.
Cuts include Boursin at 99p instead of £2.99, a vegan selection pack at 99p from £3.99, cheese pots at 99p from £1.99, blue speciality cheese at 99p from £2.49, taramasalata and cream at 50 per cent off, 99p pate bowls from £1.79, and crackling gammon joints at £4.99 from £9.99.
Leoni said: “Bought all this in Aldi, lots of Christmas cheeses, large brie, fresh chicken fillets, party prawn packs, pasties, scotch eggs, all for under £30 and in the freezer.”
A poster on the Facebook group said: “All cheeses 99p today in Aldi, loads of other stuff reduced too.” Spiced rum and salted caramel, and Belgian chocolate and morello cherry puddings were 70p.
Emma posted a picture of ‘my haul today’ and it consisted of 7 gammon joints, four turkey crowns, and five cheese selection boxes. Hannah opined: “I went to Lidl today. Error in judgement there obviously!”
