Rather than your usual outdoorsy waterproofs which look more suited to the mountains, the Neap Tide Waterproof Jacket is a city-ready waterproof that takes inspiration from the classic trench coat style. It has a more cropped length, hitting just at the hips, with a boxy silhouette that’s perfect for layering over knitwear.
It features a statement collar with tabs on the sleeves, a single-buttoned storm flap on the front, and a storm vent on the back as a nod to the traditional trench coat. It fastens with mock horn buttons up the front, and even comes with a detachable hood to keep your head dry.
Apart from the stylish details, the Neap Tide Waterproof Jacket is packed with practical features like reverse-entry welt pockets that keep your valuables dry. It also features a completely waterproof bonded inner membrane that’s breathable, with a 100% organic cotton outer layer that repels the rain.
The Neap Tide Waterproof Jacket is available in sizes eight to 26-28, and comes in three colours; green, beige and off-white. One did complain, however: “Good fit & ‘A’ line style. But noisy to wear! Crinkly fabric finish rustles & makes noises! Worn on holiday but wished I could send it back as can’t stand the noise when moving around. Sad.”
Whilst another said: “Happy with jacket. Like the style and fit. I think the price was a bit steep as full length Mac was similar price, but as it was in the sale, very pleased.”
