Sarah, Duchess of York took to Instagram to post a snap of her at a book signing event – hours after bombshell allegations of her wild spending and infidelity appeared in new biography
Sarah Ferguson appeared to send a striking message following bombshell allegations of her wild spending and infidelity in an explosive new book.
The Duchess of York took to Instagram to post a picture of herself at a book signing event for her romantic novel, Her Heart for a Compass – hours after claims in a new biography about her and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew’s chaotic and controversial lifestyle, including how she had debts totaling hundreds of thousands of pounds paid off by the late Queen after living a life of “opulent excess”
So far, she has not responded to the claims in the book called Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York, by respected historian Andrew Lownie, which also includes that she was in pursuit of a famous cast of potential lovers over the years, including Tiger Woods and John F Kennedy Jnr.
Prince Andrew ‘slept with more than dozen women in first year of marriage’, book claims Sarah Ferguson’s extravagant demands exposed as she made 4.30am request to butler
But in her latest snap posted to her Instagram account, she wore a pair of shoes at the event last month with a saying often attributed to the Royal Family and the late Queen. Her slipper-style navy shoes had ‘Never Complain’ and ‘Never Explain’ embroided on them.
The mantra is well-known to be something that the Royal Family has adopted for decades – and something the late Queen appeared to have lived by during her 70-year reign.
It is not the first time she has worn the shoes. She was also spotted wearing them in 2022 on a night out at a private members club in London.
The caption accompanying the photo read: “Her Heart for a Compass was always meant to be a bridge between hearts, stories, and generations. Being able to sign copies and speak with these incredible creators brought me right back to why I wrote it in the first place. Thank you @amazoninfluencerprogram for the opportunity.”
The new biography on the Duke and Duchess of York is said to give a startling insight into their “hedonistic life, controversial friendships and secretive money-making endeavours”.
Said to be based on four years of research and hundreds of interviews, Lownie claims Ferguson’s life as a member of the royal family was notable for being “marked by ambition and financial recklessness”.
The Duchess is alleged to have spent hundreds of thousands of pounds on royal staff, renting foreign villas and demanding security for her two daughters, Eugenie and Beatrice.
Lownie also details further extravagant spending, including visits to New York, where she allegedly took one car to the airport “and another for her ten suitcases”.
The explosive book also claims that her ex-husband, Andrew, whom she still lives with at Royal Lodge in Windsor, “slept with more than a dozen women” in the first year of his marriage to Fergie.
It alleges Fergie wanted to be “The One” but enjoyed several affairs of her own with “reckless abandon”. However, the book claims that in spite of their differences and rollercoaster relationship, “the two need each other”. Lownie quotes a friend as remarking: “Andrew is nothing without a woman.
“He’s sweet, but also rather clunky and gauche. He needs someone who can navigate his life for him.”
Andrew is reported to now understand his “initial neglect of his ex-wife”, leading him to remain loyal to her, despite her behaviour. In turn, after Andrew’s fall from grace over his association with paedophile Epstein, Sarah has proved to be his most loyal supporter. A spokesman for the Duke and Duchess of York was contacted for comment.
