Areas across England, Wales and Scotland are impacted by the delays.
Postcodes across the UK have been hit by Royal Mail delays. The postal service has shared a list of areas that are currently facing disruption. It means homes and businesses in those areas won’t receive their mail on time.
Royal Mail aims to deliver letters and parcels six days a week. However, it has faced multiple disruptions across the UK. As of Monday, March 16, Royal Mail’s air and road network is said to have operated to schedule over the past 24 hours.
However, Birmingham Mail Centre has reported that not all of its mail was processed and despatched to schedule over the weekend.
In particular, mail posted on Friday, in the B, HR and WR postcode areas, due to be delivered on Saturday, may not have arrived on time.
Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week. In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
Currently, Royal Mail is reporting delays across 20 depots. These are from all over the UK, including Glasgow, Bristol, Pontyclun, Sunderland and Swindon.
It has had a knock-on effect on 63 postcode areas, meaning people in those parts of England, Wales and Scotland won’t get their mail on time.
The delays come as Royal Mail is set to increase the price of stamps next month.
