Some UK postcodes are currently experiencing disruption and postal delays
Residents in certain UK areas should prepare themselves for postal disruptions today. Royal Mail has issued an alert, identifying 13 postcodes that are currently affected by delays.
While Royal Mail’s air and road networks continue to function normally, hold-ups are expected at six delivery offices. Furthermore, Dorset Mail Centre has confirmed that not all post was processed and dispatched on time over the past 24 hours, with some items due for delivery in the BH and DT postcode areas.
In a service update on its website, Royal Mail said: “We aim to deliver to all addresses we have mail for, six days a week.
“In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In those cases, we will rotate deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers. We also provide targeted support to those offices to address their challenges and restore our service to the high standard our customers would normally receive.”
Six delivery offices are experiencing disruption today, amongst them Oxford, Petersfield, and Whetstone.
Postcodes experiencing delays:
- Cullompton DO (EX15)
- Deal DO (CT14)
- Oxford East DO (OX3, OX4, OX33, OX44, OX49)
- Petersfield DO (GU31, GU32, GU33)
- Upton DO (CH30, CH49)
