Rock music fans can’t believe Primark are now selling a £12 T-shirt that depicts the ‘best album ever’ – but it won’t be around forever as it’s already selling out fast
Primark is currently stocking a £12 T-shirt paying homage to what many rock music fans consider the “best album ever”.
If you’re a fan of band merchandise, you’ll be all too aware of just how pricey it’s become in recent years. What once set you back £15 or £20 for a T-shirt bearing your favourite band’s latest album artwork has now rocketed to around £45 on official band websites – and most fans simply aren’t willing to splash out that much on a single item of clothing.
However, rock music lovers may have found the perfect answer, as Primark is now stocking a band T-shirt that’s got shoppers rushing to get their hands on one.
The budget fashion giant has long been known for selling T-shirts featuring beloved artists such as Nirvana, Guns N’ Roses, and the Rolling Stones, but has now broadened its range to include an iconic record from 2009.
A TikTok video posted by Jack Vickers showed off the T-shirt, with the caption: “Wdym [What do you mean] Primark are selling a T-shirt with my favourite band and album on for £12?”
Jack modelled the T-shirt in the clip, which featured a butterfly with its wings detached from its body. As any self-respecting rock fan will instantly recognise, this is the iconic artwork for Paramore’s 2009 album Brand New Eyes – with the band’s name printed beneath the butterfly, leaving no doubt whatsoever.
The reverse of the T-shirt also features its own design, showcasing a hand-drawn flower, the album’s name, and a complete track listing, which includes smash hit singles Ignorance, Brick By Boring Brick, and The Only Exception.
Viewers commenting on Jack’s video were stunned to discover Primark is stocking clothing celebrating such a legendary album, with scores of fans declaring they would be rushing to their nearest store to snap up the top for themselves.
One person said: “I need this. I just bought the Yungblud one, and I love it! Great quality too.”
Another added: “No way! Finally, merch of their older albums.”
A third said: “I need to go to Primark.”
Those keen to get their hands on the T-shirt will need to act fast, as sizes are disappearing quickly on the Primark website, and availability in stores will differ depending on your location. Online, the T-shirt is currently only on offer in XS, S, or L, with XXS, M, XL, and XXL all displaying as “out of stock”.
The product description on the website reads: “Celebrate Paramore in this licensed graphic tee inspired by the Brand New Eyes era. The front shows the iconic butterfly artwork with subtle blue accents and the classic band logo, while the back brings extra detail with a hand-drawn floral design, album title in blue script and a full tracklist across the lower half.
“Cut in a relaxed, slightly oversized shape with a crew neckline and short sleeves, it’s made from soft, breathable cotton jersey. The ecru base gives it a vintage feel with easy styling appeal.”
Primark is also offering a second Paramore T-shirt, featuring the band’s logo on both the front and back, alongside an illustration of the group and the phrase “You’re either with us, or you can keep it to yourself” — a lyric lifted from their 2023 track This Is Why. This design is currently available to purchase online in all sizes, also priced at £12.
