You would walk, feed and care for the family’s two dogs

A wealthy family is on the hunt for someone to look after their large home and two dogs for £50,000. The full-time role is to work for a “friendly, down-to-earth family” to support the running of their home.

Duties include caring for their two dogs, including daily walking, feeding, and letting them in and out of the home in Chobham, Surrey. The housekeeper will work 40 hours a week from Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required.

The job, which starts in September, will be paid £45,000 to £50,000 depending on experience. The job description reads: “A friendly, down-to-earth family based in Chobham is seeking a reliable and proactive full-time Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their home.

“This is a hands-on role within a large family home, suited to someone who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of day-to-day household tasks.

“The role is primarily focused on housekeeping and the consistent care of the family’s two dogs.”

It added: “The family are looking for someone practical, adaptable and easy to have around, who is happy to get on with what needs doing without close direction.”

The family have four children aged 12 to 22. A car would be provided to the successful candidate for use while on duty.

Responsibilities include the full housekeeping of the home, cleaning, tidying and maintaining an organised household. You would do laundry, ironing and wardrobe management.

When the family are away, the housekeeper would take care of the home and dogs.

There would be “a fair amount” of driving during the school holidays, for example, going to sports activities, parties, shops and children’s commitments.

The candidate would liaise with external contractors where needed and do light gardening. Requirements for the role include previous work in a private household and confidence in managing a home independently.

The family want someone who is proactive, organised and able to use their initiative. Being comfortable with dogs and their daily care is a requirement, as well as being flexible and reliable.

Candidates should have strong driving experiences, fluent English and a right to work in the UK. Benefits of the role have been labelled as being “long-term and stable” with “competitive hourly rate”.

There would also be the opportunity to “shape the role over time” and work alongside a “supportive” family. If you are interested in the role, CVs can be sent to Home Organisers.
