Equipped with a 4,400mAh battery, Blukar says the head torch can run for over 20 hours and takes five hours to fully charge. This long life means it should also prove useful in the summer for activities like camping and festivals, where power can be hard to come by.

According to the brand, the Bluka head torch is IPX6 waterproof, which means it can withstand heavy rain, strong water spray, and high-pressure washing, but shouldn’t be submerged. For added safety, it also has a red light on the back to increase visibility, ideal for jogging or cycling once the sun’s gone down.

Alongside black, the Blukar head torch comes in pink, blue, and space grey, though these are slightly more expensive at £17.99. A green variant is also available for £18.69 at the moment.

For a cheaper and simpler option, buyers could consider the Streetwize COB head torch from Argos for £8. Its LED light has a 217.81 lumen output, the brand says, and is powered by a single AAA battery.

An alternative option is the Extreme Sensor Cree USB head torch from Mountain Warehouse for £19.99 – currently down from £32.99 – which can be activated simply by waving a hand in front of the sensor. According to the brand, it has a 150m beam distance and is IPX4 splash proof.

Many shoppers who bought the Blukar head torch are happy with their purchases, and the item is rated 4.6 out of five on Amazon with over 5,700 reviews. One review simply said: “Great torch for the price, really good quality and bright.”
