King Charles III banknotes can be worth a lot of money, especially if you find a specific kind. Over on TikTok, user @CoinCollectingWizard shared what to look out for
Are you on the hunt for making some extra money?
Little did you know, certain rare coins and banknotes can be worth a lot of cash. Recently it was revealed a rare 2p coin is “rising in value” with many Brits rushing to check their stash for the special design. Now it’s time to take a look at your banknotes.
King Charles III banknotes are cropping up in circulation but can still be hard to find. Since June this year, the Bank of England began issuing notes featuring the monarch’s face to co-circulate with the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Now over on TikTok, user @CoinCollectingWizard revealed which banknotes to find in your pockets as certain ones are worth thousands. In a recent video with his 200,000 fans, he said: “Stop what you are doing and check your King Charles bank notes today.”
He added: “New banknotes featuring King Charles III have entered circulation but it may be some time before they’re commonly seen in wallets and purses.
“The King was presented with a full set of the lowest serial numbers following the tradition of the monarch receiving the first issues of banknotes. And collectors will be seeking banknotes close to the 000001 serial number as possible.”
He concluded: “So what you need to look for is CA01 0000003, this has an estimate of £4,000. The King Charles banknotes are now in UK circulation and are being found daily, so remember you are looking for low serial numbers as the first set is out somewhere.”
It’s worth checking on eBay too as they’re probably selling for way more, but according to the TikTok user you could get around £20,000 for certain notes. Since the video was shared, it pocketed hundreds of likes and some comments.
One said: “Excellent,” while another admitted: “Will check.” And a third chimed in: “Criminal.” So do you have any of these banknotes with low serial numbers? Let us know below…
