The fashion retailer could have just the thing for shoppers looking for stylish footwear
Primark is stocking summer-ready sandals that could rival a £119 pair for under £20. Popular among high street shoppers, the fashion retailer is known for its stylish yet affordable ranges.
The retailer could be living up to its reputation with its new £18 Espadrille Wedge Sandals. Primark offers the sandals in gold or tan, and either style could impress shoppers looking to upgrade their footwear ahead of the spring and summer months. It’s not just the price that could excite bargain hunters.
The wedges arguably look strikingly similar to Hobbs London’s Grace Espadrille, which are currently on sale for £99, marked down from an original price of £119. Even with the discount, Primark’s heels are the cheaper option.
There are several similarities between the shoes, based on the product images. While the design and construction of the shoes will differ, both retailers have opted for wedge heels, a criss-cross design, a tan upper, and gold buckle ankle straps.
Shoppers interested in the Primark heels can purchase them online via click-and-collect or use the Primark website to check in-store availability. The shoes are available in sizes two to nine.
While Primark does not offer a detailed product description for its shoes, the retailer states: “Wedge sandals with cross strap design and espadrille wedge heels.” The shoes are made from synthetic materials.
While the Hobbs London heels are currently out of stock online, shoppers interested in the shoes can sign up for stock notifications. The product description states: “Taking you from garden parties to Sunday brunch with ease, the Grace espadrilles are a warm weather essential.
“Premium leather upper. Flattering interlocking straps, inspired by ’70s design. Open toe. Woven espadrille wedge. Adjustable ankle strap for a secure fit.”
Alternatively, shoppers with room in their budget might like the Lauren Ralph Lauren Nappa Leather Wedge Espadrille Sandals, which are currently on sale at Next. The shoes are on offer for £75, marked down from an original price of £159. There are three colours to choose from, including tan. Although the other two pairs of shoes arguably look the most alike, thanks to the similar criss-cross pattern, the Next shoes still have a tan upper with a woven pattern.
The product description states: “A luxurious rendition of the essential espadrille, the Soffia unites a smooth calfskin upper with a leg-lengthening, jute-covered wedge. A padded footbed offers all-day comfort, while an ‘LRL’-debossed logo and an L-shaped buckle add a subtle signature finish.”
The heels are popular with reviewers. One impressed shopper commented: “Fabulous sandals, very comfortable. I will get a lot of wear out of these.” Another buyer said: “Beautiful, classy sandals. Can we worn to dressed up or casual. Sturdy and true to size. Although pricy, they are good quality and high-end branded.”
