Some were claiming they needed to get their hands on the ‘entire collection’
Primark has quietly released a collection of pyjamas that has people who grew up in the 2000s feeling very nostalgic. It even caught the attention of a TV star who starred in the popular children’s show that inspired the new range.
Based on the Jacqueline Wilson book, The Story of Tracy Beaker was adapted into a CBBC series in 2002. It ran until 2005 and produced various spin-offs as well as merchandise, which now includes a new Primark pyjama collection. Fans were quick to comment on the new collection appearing in Primark stores in the UK. TikTok user Liv (@Livmchughh) shared a clip from her local branch of the discount fashion chain and wrote: “Run to Primark for the new Tracy Beaker pyjamas!”
The top comment on Liv’s post is Tracy Beaker star Dani Harmer, who played the title character from 2002. She said: “Oh I am buying that entire collection!”
In her own follow-up video ( @Daniharmer ), she asked: “Tracy Beaker pyjamas in Primark? What is going on? I need confirmation. Are these actually real?” She claimed that fans tagged her in clips “about 6,000 times”, but some were convinced these videos are AI.
Fans of the show also piled into the comments section. One said: “Why are they not on click and collect? I’m having a meltdown!” Another put: “Oh bog off! Looks like I’m going to Primark!”
Someone else commented: “Sorry, but where were these when I had Tracy Beaker bedsheets when I was 10, please?! 30-year-old me is still going to buy though!” A fourth said: “It’s not on the website? Am I missing something? I really NEED these in my life!”
More videos are also appearing online, such as a branch from Manchester ( @Prmrk.new.in ), another from Liverpool ( @Liverpoolprimarktrends ) and one from East Kilbride in Scotland ( @Prmk_eastkilbride ). Staff commented on the clip, confirming the range “only hit store today” on May 4, with other branches expected to receive stock soon.
What is included in the collection?
None of the items are available on the Primark website (at the time of writing), making it difficult to know what the entire range looks like. Based on TikTok clips available online, shoppers can choose from three styles of pyjamas, starting at £12.
One set includes a t-shirt and shorts, priced at £14. Another is a long-sleeved set with trousers (£22) that feature an all-over graphic print in the same style as the classic children’s book illustrations. Shoppers can also get the nightshirt-style top for £12.
