Primark has explained when and where its shops will shut down
Primark has confirmed all stores in a number of UK nations will close for more than 24 hours next month.
The retailer has more than 190 stores across the UK and is popular among shoppers due to its affordable clothing, homeware and more – and its shops are usually open seven days a week. However, Primark has said all stores in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland will close temporarily over the Easter weekend next month.
A Primark spokesperson said: “Primark stores across the UK will be open across the Easter weekend, however on Easter Sunday only stores in Scotland will be open and all stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be closed. Stores may also be operating different hours to normal, so we recommend that customers check our website for their local store opening times before visiting to avoid disappointment.”
For example, the Primark store on Oxford Street is open from 8am until 10pm on both Good Friday, April 3, and the next day – Saturday, April 4. It will then be closed from 10pm on the Saturday until it reopens at 8am on Easter Monday, April 6. The store will be open until 10pm on this day.
Primark Marble Arch will be open 8am-10pm on both Good Friday, April 3, and Saturday, April 4. It will then be closed from 10pm on the Saturday until it reopens at 8am on Easter Monday, April 6.
Different store opening times will vary so it is worth checking your local shop if you need to make a visit. Under the Sunday Trading Act 1994, shops over 280 square metres in size are legally obliged to close on Easter Sunday.
