Snoop Dogg made his first visit to Swansea City on Tuesday after becoming an investor in the club last summer, drawing a record attendance for their dramatic 1-1 draw with Preston North End
Preston North End manager Paul Heckingbottom claims that his side only realised Snoop Dogg was in attendance because Swansea City’s tunnel ‘smelt of weed’. Tuesday’s Championship clash suddenly had global attention after musical icon Snoop rocked up at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The American, real name Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, is an investor in the Welsh club and he drew a record crowd for his first visit. Snoop, 54, was presented to the crowd before kick-off and sparked a lively atmosphere.
But Heckingbottom doesn’t think that Snoop’s presence affected the match which ended 1-1. Preston had taken the lead in the first half, as Daniel Jebbison broke the deadlock for the promotion chasers.
But North End’s win was snatched away when super sub Liam Cullen rescued a point for Swansea in the 95th minute. When asked post-match if his players had to deal with an ‘intense’ atmosphere, Heckingbottom replied: “It wasn’t was it?

“It was quiet. We kept them quiet. That’s how we played. Our fans were the loudest. We only let them have their occasion at the very end by conceding. So that’s the frustrating thing.”
The Preston boss added: “I can’t tell. It’s only different for people who are here every week, isn’t it? It’s not different for us. We don’t play at Swans every week, so it’s no different for us.
“We go away to Ipswich the other week, they were at it, their fans were at it, and that was noise all game. It was just a game for us and we kept, I felt, everyone quiet until the end.

“I think just the smell of weed in the tunnel is the only thing where we realised something was different.”
It was Snoop’s first appearance at the Swansea.com Stadium after becoming part of their star-studded ownership group last July. The 17-time Grammy nominee invested alongside television host Martha Stewart and AC Milan star Luka Modric, as they bid to help the Swans return to the Premier League.
Walking onto the pitch while wearing a Swansea shirt and jacket, Snoop was given a guard of honour by 20 youngsters who’ll represent Wales at the 2026 Street Child World Cup. He then did a lap of the ground, waving to supporters and hugging club mascot Cyril the Swan.
