Nottinghamshire Police has issued an update after officers were called to the Asda on Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, following reports of a fight involving bladed weapons

Police have issued a major update following reports of a fight involving bladed weapons outside an Asda supermarket.

Officers were called to the Asda on Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, at around 11.57pm on Friday. Nottinghamshire Police said a 17-year-old boy sustained a slash wound to his arm and a 24-year-old man suffered an injury to his elbow in the incident. Both were treated in hospital.

Police have since located a third victim, a 23-year-old man who suffered an injury to his arm. The force added that all three victims, whose injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening, are being supported by officers.

In an update issued today, the force said it had arrested two 16-year-old boys on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The pair remain in custody, NottinghamshireLive reports.

Detective Sergeant Adam Penn, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We do not tolerate violence or those who think it is acceptable to carry or use weapons.

“Following these arrests we continue to investigate this incident and efforts are ongoing to trace other people believed to have been involved.”

Anyone with information about the incident should call 101, quoting incident 868 of March 13. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers, free and anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
