We’ve now heard from London Fire Brigade (LFB), which says around 100 firefighters and 15 fire engines are responding to a blaze on Rye Lane in Peckham.
The fire is affecting a shop and a storage unit. Two of the brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders are being used to tackle the fire from above.
Control officers took the first of more than 30 emergency calls at 8.54pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
