‘It’s put all the other fans to shame. Instantly cooling and small but mighty, a must have for the warmer months.’
The recent heatwave had many people looking for cost-effective ways to cool down their homes and with the majority of the summer months to come, a ‘must buy’ for thousands of Amazon customers is the Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan. Retailing for £28.99, it’s one of the more affordable options on the market, but according to users it’s ‘outstanding’ when it comes to cooling down a room rapidly.
More than 27,000 people have rated the fan on Amazon, giving it an overall score of 4.5 out of five. Compact in size but mighty in power, the fan uses ‘TurboForce’ to circulate air that can be felt up to 7 metres away.
There are three settings to choose from and the fan can be tilted 90 degrees. It also has a wall mount feature – ideal for an office with little surface space, or above the bed. When it comes to sleeping with the fan on, customers confirm it is quiet so shouldn’t disturb anyone throughout the night.
A parent wrote a review that says: “Great fan. Got this fan for my baby’s room in a heat wave. Very powerful, not very noisy and cools the room well. Loved it so much I got another one for my room. Reasonably priced too.”
This bestselling fan is a favourite summer purchase for thousands of people that have discovered the gadget, being left so impressed they’ve stocked up on several for multiple rooms in the house. One person wrote: “This fan is set up on the other side of my bedroom and I can still feel the air forcefully coming from the fan. It’s powerful, quiet considering the strength and sturdy. I’m buying two more today! Worth every penny.”

The Honeywell Fan is a favourite among thousands of shoppers.
Someone else even compared the under £30 device to expensive air con units, calling it ‘better’. They said: “Just buy it! My husband purchased an air con unit a couple of weeks ago due to the heatwave and not being able to sleep during the day, he works nights needless to say the air con is terrible.
“This unit is cheap in comparison and works 100 percent better than a fancy air con. This little fan is absolutely brilliant. I have two now one for upstairs and one for down.”
That’s not to say there are no customers that have found fault with the fan as someone noted: “My only gripe is that it could do with being able to angle it downwards just a touch.” The Honeywell Fan does not oscillate which may prove problematic.
If this is a priority, Dunelm’s £30 32″ White Tower Fan might be a better option. It also has three different speeds and thanks to the slim tower design, it shouldn’t take up a lot of space.
Another under £100 alternative is the ProBreeze AirFlo™ 43″ Hybrid Pedestal Fan. The brand states it costs at little as 1p per hour to run, and users say it ‘really cools down the room’.
Following the recent hot weather, someone picked up the Honeywell Fan, sharing: “Amazing electric fan – strong airflow and very quiet! It was 35 degrees in the UK, so hot that the fan saved my life.”
A further five star review reads: “I’ve been using the Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best fans I’ve ever owned.
“Despite its compact size, it delivers impressive cooling power – the airflow is strong enough to quickly freshen up a room, yet it runs surprisingly quietly, even on the higher speed settings.”
