Disgraced Paralympian Oscar Pistorius has been spotted on a romantic lunch with her new lover who looks strikingly similar to Reeva Steenkamp – who he shot dead on Valentine’s Day
Oscar Pistorious is “besotted” with his new girlfriend but the similarities between her and Reeva Steenkamp, who he shot dead, are uncanny.
The Paralympian turned murderer has been spotted at an influencer-loved all-pink cafe, in one of South Africa’s most affluent suburbs, holding hands and lunching with his new lover. Girlfriend Rita Greyling looks strikingly similar to Pistorius’s ex-partner Reeva, who he killed on Valentine’s Day 2013 in a case that shocked the world. Rita, 33, who also has blonde hair like his murdered ex and similar facial features, is a management consultant but also, like Reeva, worked as a model.

Rumours of their romance came out months after disgraced Pistorious was released from prison on parole, in January 2024. The murderer has since appeared to try and live a quiet life following the crime and trial that shook the world.
Seen with Rita, at the trendy Goddess Cafe near Johannesburg, a source spotted the couple looking loved up. A witness, according to the MailOnline, said: “You can’t imagine a less likely place to see Oscar Pistorius but he and Rita hold hands and look lovingly across the table at each other. He is besotted with her. You can see they are deeply in love.”
Pistorious reportedly told a friend that he wanted to leave his criminal past behind him to quietly settle down and start a family, after serving nine years behind bars for Reeva’s murder.
Rita, from Wakkerstroom, is thought to be a family friend of the disgraced Paralympian with the couple keeping their relationship low profile.
After his release from prison, Pistorius moved into his wealthy uncle’s £2 million Pretoria home. He appears to also be relaunching his sporting career after taking part in an Ironman triathlon in June.
Last year, a source close to Pistorius, said: “He is trying to rebuild his life in a low-key way and avoids bars and restaurants and the general public and is flying under the radar.
“He is slowly trying to reintegrate into society but that is being done through families that his family have been close to for decades and is slowly slowly. The word on the street for three months now is that he is dating again.”
Pistorius’ sentence ends in 2029 and he is subject to certain conditions for life outside jail – including attending therapy sessions. The murderer has supposedly also volunteered at a nearby Dutch Reform Church, after reportedly finding it difficult to find employment due to his past.
Reeva’s mum June Steenkamp, 78, is critically ill in hospital after suffering a stroke. Friends of the 78-year-old reportedly fear she might not remember her own beloved daughter.
A family friend, speaking to the MailOnline, said: “She is barely able to speak. It’s impossible to follow what she is saying or have a conversation. She doesn’t know her own name and doesn’t recognise people.”
