Nikita Muse, from Chippenham, Wiltshire, skipped a trip to the pub when she became the latest winner of the Omaze Monthly Millionaire Draw — and she shared her joy with a friend
The shocked friend of a mum who became a millionaire on a lottery draw retorted: “Are you f***ing joking” at being told the news.
Nikita Muse, 35, shared her joy with a pal who she had arranged to meet for a drink that night. She cancelled the rendezvous, telling her mate the reason why, to which she said: “Are you f***ing joking”.
But the meeting was worth scrapping at late notice as Nikita, from Chippenham, Wiltshire, was able to promise her friend she could treat her to a lavish celebration soon. They indeed met for champagne within one week of Nikita’s win she scooped for just £15.
The mum of four said today: “I was just finishing up at work when I got a call from Omaze to say I’d won something. I rang my husband straight away and he told me there was absolutely no way it was genuine and that I should just ignore it.
“But I double-checked everything and it all looked pretty real to me. Then it was basically ‘knock knock – who’s there? A million pounds!’ Our neighbours didn’t even realise what was going on; one said afterwards she thought it was just a really big Amazon delivery.”

Nikita, who works as a finance manager at a golf course, continued: “I was actually on my way out to meet a friend for a drink after work, so I rang her to say I had to cancel because Omaze had turned up at my house to tell me I’d won a million pounds.
“She said, ‘Are you f***ing joking?!’ I told her it would be worth postponing – and that drinks were definitely on me when we do meet up! I’m not a huge drinker, but we did open a bottle of champagne to celebrate at home.”
Nikita, who lives with 39-year-old David, a retail production manager, had been entering Omaze for almost five years and recently subscribed. She said she had always been inspired by the dream of a better life for her family, as well as the charities Omaze supports.
“The night I found out, it was absolutely freezing outside, but I wasn’t cold at all. All I felt was excitement about what had just happened and what it meant for our future,” the mother, of Wiltshire, continued.
“It was such a crazy moment. You never think it’s actually going to happen, but the money is in my account now – I’ll never forget seeing all those zeros appear.
“Winning a million pounds really takes the pressure off us. We’ll be able to treat the kids – I mean, if you can’t treat them after winning a million, when can you? We can’t wait to go on some amazing holidays; making those kinds of family memories is priceless.
“We just celebrated our first wedding anniversary a couple of days ago in style – the budget definitely went up for that. We got married in New York last year and it was so expensive that we never thought we’d be able to go back, but now we can, especially with my husband turning 40 next year. We’d also love to take the kids to Disneyland Florida.”
As well as changing Nikita and her family’s lives forever, Omaze helps raise money for good causes across the UK through its prize draws, with more than £100 million raised to support UK charity partners since launching in 2020.
James Oakes, President of Omaze, said: “We’re all delighted that Nikita has become our latest Monthly Millionaire winner. It’s wonderful to see a hard-working mum enjoy such a life-changing moment, and everyone at Omaze is thrilled for her and her family’s future.
“Omaze gives people the chance to win life-changing prizes, while also raising significant funds for incredible causes. Thanks to the generosity of the Omaze community, we’ve now raised over £100 million for good causes across the UK.”
