The fan has three speeds and three light modes and can work on a timer or with a remote control
Shoppers are snapping up a clever Amazon gadget described as a ‘heatwave must-have’ that transforms an ordinary light fitting into a ceiling fan in minutes. The 46cm Ceiling Fan Light is now priced at £15.99 on the website and it simply screws into an existing light socket, meaning there’s no need for complicated wiring or expensive installation.
As temperatures continue to climb, the compact fan offers a quick way to keep bedrooms, home offices and living spaces cooler without the hassle of fitting a traditional ceiling fan. Better still, it doubles as an LED light, making it a practical two-in-one upgrade for the summer months.
Designed to fit a standard E27 light socket (with a B22 version also available), the fan can be installed by simply screwing it into place like a normal light bulb. It comes complete with a remote control and batteries, allowing users to enjoy cooling airflow and lighting within minutes.

The gadget combines three fan speeds with three adjustable light settings, ranging from a warm 3000K glow to a bright 6500K daylight mode. Whether shoppers are relaxing in the evening or working during the day, they can tailor both the lighting and airflow to suit their needs.
Despite its compact 46cm design, the ceiling fan is suitable for a variety of spaces including bedrooms, garages, nurseries, offices and living rooms. It also works on both flat and sloped ceilings, making it a flexible option for many homes.
Powered by a brushless pure copper motor, the fan delivers quiet cooling at up to 400 RPM, while the integrated 40W LED produces up to 2,400 lumens of brightness. With adjustable power settings between 6W and 12W, it’s also designed to help keep energy use down while providing welcome relief during hot weather.

Alternatively, Yimbly, an online marketplace which is owned by the Mirror’s parent company Reach PLC, has the HOMCOM Reversible Ceiling Fan for £84.99 available. This one is said to be ideal to add a touch of glamour to homes.
There is also the Living and Home 55cm 5 Blade Acrylic Led Ceiling Fan in a different design and with blades within the unit. This one is priced at £79.99 down from £99 in their sale.
For something different, Amazon has a 60 Degree Oscillating Tower Fan for Bedroom priced at £37.19. With over 4,000 bought in the past month, this one is proving to be a popular choice.
The 46cm Ceiling Fan Light has been rated highly online, with an average rating of 4.4 stars out of five based on 74 reviews. More than 600 fans have been sold on Amazon since the heatwave started this month.
One happy customer described it as ‘a must-have for hot UK weather’ in their review, adding: “I’m genuinely impressed with this 46cm Ceiling Fan Light with Bayonet Fitting. It’s rare to find a fan/light combo that installs so easily in a UK home, but this one fits perfectly thanks to the standard bayonet fitting. No rewiring, no hassle, just a straightforward upgrade that immediately improves the room.
“The airflow is excellent for its size. Even on the lower settings, it circulates air smoothly and keeps the room comfortable without creating noise or turbulence. On hotter days, the higher speed makes a noticeable difference, yet still stays surprisingly quiet.
“The light is bright and evenly diffused, making it ideal for bedrooms, offices, or living spaces. It doesn’t flicker, and the colour temperature feels natural. The included remote control is a huge bonus and easy to use, responsive, and lets you adjust both the fan speed and lighting without getting up.”
A four star reviewer added: “I have had three of these in the house for several months now and, mostly (hence the 4 not 5 stars) they’re great. The one star lost is that one of them became noisy but, after a short stint of investigation discovered the fitting in the lamp was loose. Tightened it up and it was fine. I cannot say how long they will last but these are solid lamps. The fans are much more powerful than their size suggests instantly cooling a room.
“Putting them together was a little fiddly as the blades must be inserted into the lamp but I did manage all three without breaking anything. Changing the settings on them is easy except for one annoying detail, one remote control adjusts any lamp in range and I managed to have them in adjoining rooms and therefore need to walk away from the other room when using the remote. It’s not a huge distance though, three metres maybe… if you live in a castle with four metre ceilings, this might not be for you.”
Another added: “Easy to install. Quiet, bright and perfect for small or medium rooms. Remote works smoothly with good speed and dimming control. Easy to install with the extension rods included.”
Most of the reviews were 4 and 5 stars, however several shoppers who bought ones for the B22 wired fitting had a less positive experience. One reviewer described it as ‘unsafe on B22,’ explaining: “Twists wire when the fan is turned on and springs back when I turn it off. Will eventually snap the wire if left on for a long time. I think it will work fine if I had a fixed E27 socket, but unsafe on a B22.”
However, shoppers with the fixed light fitting were pleased with their purchase, with one adding: “I purchased this for my son’s medium sized bedroom. No fiddly wiring and perfect as the fan sits directly over his bed. It has three speeds and is powerful enough to keep him cool throughout the night. Plus it has a timer. Not sure if it would be powerful enough for a larger room but overall we’re very satisfied with the product. I’d definitely recommend it and it’s great value.”
