A pair of chunky flatform sandals at Next are earning high praise from buyers for being both fashionable and comfortable to walk in – not exactly two terms you often see go hand in hand. The Gladiator Chunky Sandals are priced at £38 and come in black and white hues.
Available in sizes 3.5-8, the Gladiator Chunky Sandals feature an upper strap with an adjustable buckle strap to secure the heel of your foot. The model sporting the black pair of sandals teamed them with a tassel-adorned black midi skirt.
While the model in the white pair of sandals opts for denim jorts, and a matching white tank top. The sandals have a 4.5 out of five-star average rating, with 53 reviews for the black pair and seven for the white pair.

One pleased buyer rated them five stars, saying: “I love them! They are a lovely material, feel well made, and are so comfy to walk in, I’ve had no rubbing from them at all.
“They are fairly heavy at first, but I soon get used to them, and I appreciate the extra height it gives me, being 5’1. Great for the beach and festivals, as that little bit more off the ground. I’ve had some lovely comments on them and would recommend them.”
However, another warns that the chunky sole can be difficult to walk with. They commented: “They look the part, but keep tripping myself up! Plus they are very heavy if covering long distance.”
A third praised the prompt delivery, writing: “Look great feel comfortable very pleased with my purchase. They were quickly dispatched and arrived in good order.”
A fourth buyer said they are not suitable for wide-fit wearers, adding, “They were lovely sandals; I was really excited to get them! I bought the wide fit as I have wide feet, but unfortunately, they weren’t wide enough!
“They’re also quite heavy, but still really lovely sandals. Worth a try! I returned them as they didn’t fit.”
A fifth described them as comfortable: “These sandals are super comfy. I struggle with new footwear and have to ‘break them’ in for days, at home, before going out wearing them. Not with these.
“When these sandals arrived, I popped them on and found them so comfy. Nothing was rubbing or felt tight on my feet. Wore them to a wedding and walked and danced miles in them.”
They concluded: “My feet were the only part of my body that wasn’t complaining! I’d definitely recommend these sandals.
