Shoppers have had ‘several compliments’ about the ‘stylish’ new summer dress collection
Next shoppers claim that a new dress could become a “summer favourite” in wardrobes this year, and many can’t wait to wear this at home and on holiday in 2026. People are raving about the “absolutely stunning” patterns to choose from – and some customers have picked up at least three.
The Linen Blend Short Sleeve V-Neck Kaftan Mini Dress is available in five designs, starting at £31. Versions in orange, green and monochrome are all priced at £31, while patterned prints cost slightly more (Blue Greek Print is £38 and Yellow/Pink Tropical Print is £39).
Describing the dress online, Next bosses said: “This Kaftan Mini Dress is the perfect mix of chic and relaxed for summer. Crafted in a lightweight linen-blend, the softly oversized silhouette and gentle V-neck allow you to move freely.

“Featuring a stylish tile print, short sleeves, useful pockets, and a back pleat detail, this dress is perfect for sundown drinks or your summer holidays.” The dress also includes “pockets and back pleat detail”, according to the high street retailer.
There are other kaftan-style summer dresses on sale elsewhere, such as M&S’ Pure Cotton Tie Detail Mini Kaftan Dress (£20) and Monsoon’s Iris Floral Print Mini Kaftan (£31.50). But, hundreds of shoppers have glowing reviews about the Next dress.
One shopper said: “Lovely dress, but the fit is quite large. I went down two sizes. It’s going to be a summer favourite!”
Another wrote: “Lovely dress have, I have bought three more in this style. I have worn [the dress] with a jacket for more dressy occasions and on its own for a casual look. It has been brilliant in this heat wave. I have received several compliments on the striking colour and pattern.”
A third put in their review: “Lovely summery dresses. I bought a size 12 but I am usually 14-16 and the 12 was the right size for me. Like the material. Very comfortable.”
But it was not all flawless, as some shoppers claimed the oversized fit was “not flattening at all”. A handful of shoppers suggested sizing down to find the right feel for individual preferences.
Another wrote: “Bought this last week, tried it on and looks like a sack, I know it is kaftan style but not great, doesn’t suit me at all. Would suggest sizing down if you want it.”
However, the majority of people who bought the dress had nothing but compliments for it. Someone else who gave a five-star verdict said: “So comfortable and perfect for holidays!”
One more put: “This dress caught my eye straight away, I don’t usually buy clothing with patterns, but I was so taken with this print I thought I’d give it a go and I was not disappointed, it was absolutely stunning. The material is lovely and soft, the colour is so vibrant.”
