No one matched five balls during the National Lottery’s Set For Life game on Monday — but 31 people won £250 each in the game by correctly guessing four numbers and the life ball

No one has as yet claimed the top prize — £10,000 every month for 30 years — on last night’s Set For Life game.

The National Lottery says the ball numbers were; 16, 22, 24, 32 and 38. The life ball was 9. However, no one had five matches with, or without, the life ball in the Allwyn Entertainment game.

But the odds of winning the jackpot of £10,000 every month for 30 years are approximately one in 15.3million. The chances of winning the second prize of £10,000 every month for a year are approximately one in 1.7million, data says. The overall odds of winning any prize on Set For Life are one in 12.4.

And 31 people were lucky last night as they matched four numbers and the life ball, bagging single sums of £250 each. Some 247 people won £50 each by matching four numbers but not the life ball.

Amazing reactions of National Lottery winners

A ticket for Set For Life costs just £1.50, and the draw takes place every Monday and Thursday at 8pm. More than 168,000 people won something in last night’s game, including the 1,236 people who guessed correctly three numbers and the life ball. These people won £30 each.

James Evans’ lucky dip paid off when it bagged him the jackpot of £10,000 every month for 30 years. Since his win in late 2020, Mr Evans, now 26, has swapped life block paving to become a ski instructor, has been able to pay off his car, treated himself to a new computer and bought his first home, complete with a hot tub.

But he has also made sure those closest to him are also financially secure and made donations to charities close to his heart. The former landscaper said: “Apparently, I was the most chilled winner who had ever rung the National Lottery line but in truth I was in shock – it hadn’t sunk in.

“I was on a zoom call when I told my friends, and they were all trying to guess the news I had to tell them. After I won, everyone I know started buying National Lottery tickets.

“What has really changed me as a person is being able to do things for others. My family is massively important to me, so I’ve paid for my mum and dad to come skiing in Austria with me, helped my sister buy a new car and helped my brother start his own business. I also still help my dad out with the family landscaping business when he needs me, I will always put him first and will continue to do so until he retires.
