Investing in a new mattress is a significant decision, both for your comfort and your bank balance. Ahead of the bank holiday, the sleep experts at Simba are offering 20% off selected mattresses, potentially saving sleepers hundreds of pounds.
As the proud owner of a Simba mattress, I think that they are worth every penny. Almost impossible to choose the perfect mattress online, I was delighted when the sleep experts at Simba sent me a Simba Hybrid® Ultra Mattress to try for myself.
My range-topping Simba Hybrid Ultra Mattress has been a revelation, proving to me (and my husband) just how important is it to have the right mattress to suit your needs. With £600 off in the sale, the price is down to £2399 for the kingsize mattress, but this Simba is still an investment – with no more dips in the middle, unsprung springs or sweaty synthetic toppers, a sound night’s sleep feels like it is worth every penny.

I adore my Simba, but it’s not the only range of high end mattresses out there. The Hybrid Airgrid Mattress from Emma has been called “a really excellent mattress” by customers. Available to buy for £1,314, the king size mattress currently comes with free pillows, mattress protector and duvet worth £341.
Elsewhere, Eve Sleep is offering up to 50% off in their spring sale. The Wunderflip Ultimate Hybrid Sleep Mattress is currently on sale, with prices starting from £699. A cheaper option, it still has a four out of five-star rating from mattress buyers on a budget.

The Simba Hybrid Ultra Mattress
When it arrived I was a little overwhelmed by the sheer size of it. Measuring a more than generous 34cm in depth, it was no flimsy bed topper that had been hand delivered to my bedroom, but more a weapons-grade comfort cloud that the delivery men struggled to get up the stairs.
When popped on top of my divan base, I was immediately reminded of the Princess and the Pea, but one quick lie down and any fear of feeling too high off the floor quickly dissipated. The deeper mattress provides a higher level of support for the hips, shoulders and other sensitive areas, and honestly, it feels like sleeping on a giant cushion that never dents or sags.
The medium-firm mattress is just right, not too soft and not too hard, which in my experience is a revelation as that can be a difficult balance to get right.
Comfort
Made from 13 layers of luxurious materials and with 8,500 supportive springs hidden within, the signature design really does provide unparalleled levels of comfort. Offering support in all the right places, it seems to handle different-sized sleepers with ease, and the magic technology that sets it apart from other high-end mattresses does a fine job of keeping you both cool.
On top, a layer made of wool, bamboo, charcoal and kapok helps to increase natural support and breathability. Dig down deeper and 4,000 titanium alloy Aerocoil® micro springs compress individually in response to your body, providing ergonomic pressure relief and limiting transfer of movement, while 3,500 high carbon steel Aerocoil® micro springs sit further down the mattress to maximise support, gently pushing fresh air through the mattress as they compress.
This rather delicious mattress also features a SupportCore™ base, with 1,000 pocketed barrel springs to ensure 100% edge-to-edge support.
Temperature Control
As a menopausal woman, night sweats and hot flashes can interrupt even the deepest of sleep. Imagine my joy then to discover that the team at Simba were laser-focused on creating the coolest, most comfortable top layer for the Ultra which they did with the help of a combination of airy bamboo, cooling charcoal and silky-soft kapok.
Having used this mostly through the cooler months of the year I’ve not once felt myself overheating. Of course, that could still change as the mercury rises, but so far this mattress has shown much more impressive cooling capabilities than some of the other supposedly “cooling” bed sheets, duvets and pillows I have tried before.
It also came with a pure white mattress protector that is deep enough to cover the super soft mattress, and the top layer of the mattress can be removed for washing.
Cost
The Simba Hybrid Ultra range starts from £1599.20 with 20% off in the sale. While this particular mattress is the brand’s most expensive offering, it also features their signature tech, making it much more than just a comfy mattress.
Compared to the bestselling Simba Hybrid® Pro (now from £647) and Simba Hybrid® Luxe (now from £995) mattresses, the Ultra offers an increased number of those all-important Simba Aerocoil® micro springs for optimum supportive comfort.
While all Simba models including the entry-level Simba Essential (now from £399) and Simba Hybrid® Original (now from £525) models feature Graphite-infused, ‘open-cell’ Simbatex® foam to increase airflow and diffuse excess heat, this rather gorgeous mattress comes complete with the CoolFusion™ layer (wool, bamboo, charcoal, kapok) to ensure effective temperature control and moisture wicking.
It’s not just me that loves the Simba mattress either as fellow customers have given it a 4.7 out of five star rating. One buyer said: “Incredibly comfortable, so worth it! I was hesitating but it’s by far the best mattress I’ve ever had. I’m a solo side sleeper of low weight and it’s perfect for me, I was worried it would be too firm! But I love it, and it’s done wonders for my back. Couldn’t be happier!”
Another added: “Believe the hype. It’s been 12 days, and I have had the most consistently great sleep in half a decade. The mattress delivers so well on its promise.”
A third simply said: “Perfect! Absolute bliss, the best purchase I’ve made in years, 100%”. Sadly, not every sleeper was quite so impressed. One disappointed buyer left a three-star review that said: “Unfortunately, the mattress was very firm, and not for us. The mattress cover ripped when putting the mattress on the bed. A new one was sent out but it was not what you’d expect.”
Overall, most buyers were satisfied with their new purchase. One five-star review summed it us, saying: “In short, the Simba Hybrid Ultra redefines what a mattress can be. It’s not just a bed—it’s the best mattress ever engineered, transforming sleep into an indulgent, dreamlike experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking the ultimate in comfort and quality and sheer luxury.”
