Isabelle Rose Welsh died after being taken to hospital following reports of concerns for her welfare – Alexandra Walker, 25, and Harrison Simpson, 21, appeared in court accused of her murder
The family of a two-year-old suspected murder victim have paid emotional tribute to the little girl who was ‘full of smiles’.
Isabelle Rose Welsh died after being taken to hospital following reports of concerns for her welfare. Alexandra Walker, 25, and Harrison Simpson, 21, appeared in court last week accused of her murder.
Her devastated family wanted her picture to be shared on social media, rather than those accused of killing her. Their tribute said Isabelle Rose was aged two “with a full life ahead of her”. They added: “She was always full of smiles. Isabelle loved to watch Peppa Pig as that was her comfort show. She also loved her dummies and dancing.” Isabelle’s father Josh Welsh described her as his “princess”.
“Rest in peace Isabelle,” he said. “Daddy loves you.” The family also wished to thank those who have offered “kind words and condolences” since the death of the much-loved little girl.
Hundreds of people have shared their shock, sadness and condolences to the family on social media. One described the beautiful tot as ‘an angel’. Another wrote: “What a gorgeous little girl… This world is too cruel.”
Floral tributes were left outside her home on Hartington Close, Thornaby, Teesside. One wrote: “Thoughts and prayers are with you all. Rest in eternal paradise beautiful princess.”
Walker, of Hartington Close, Thornaby, was charged with murder and causing/allowing the death of a child. Simpson, also of Hartington Close, is charged with murder, rape and causing/allowing the death of a child.
The defendants appeared via video link from prison at Teesside Crown Court. They were remanded in custody on Friday.
A plea hearing was set for November 6.
