Linton Weirich was reportedly set upon by a fellow inmate at HMP Swaleside – to which he was moved from HMP Wandsworth – and it is understood he was holding his baby at the time
A mum watched on in horror as her baby daughter was “knocked out” due to injuries sustained in an attack.
Linton Weirich was reportedly holding his three-month-old tot in prison when he was set upon by a fellow inmate. The dad fell onto his daughter at HMP Swaleside near Sheppey, Kent, it is understood.
The horror reportedly happened when Weirich’s girlfriend – the mother of the baby – had visited him at the Category B clink, to which he had been transferred from HMP Wandsworth in south London. The mum was left in a state of distress after realising her child was “not responding” following the attack, it is believed.
The baby suffered a fractured skull, said Kent Police, who last night said they are investigating the alleged assault. The child’s family, including the mother, are “really stressed out” after the fracas.
“It was awful for the baby’s mum to witness. To see her child not responding and knocked out is terrifying. The family have been in total shock. They’re really stressed out and worried about the baby still,” a source told The Sun.
South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed they attended an incident at the prison on December 18. Two victims – thought to be Weirich and his daughter – were taken to hospital.
Weirich is in jail for having sex with a prison officer behind bars. He was last year filmed romping married prison officer Linda De Sousa Abreu in an X-rated clip that was widely circulated online, sparking a police investigation. Weirich had already been in jail following a £65,000 burglary.
But he was moved from HMP Wandsworth – where the sex tape scandal happened – to HMP Swaleside following the behaviour, for which De Sousa was jailed for 15 months after pleading guilty to misconduct in a public office.
In the shocking X-rated clip, the officer was seen clad in uniform, initially engaging in what appeared to be a sex act with the criminal. She was then seen having sex with the prisoner while his cellmate filmed on a mobile phone in the Category B clink. The prisoner filming panned the camera around momentarily and, grinning, said: “This is how we roll in Wandsworth.”
