Marks & Spencer’s brown suede loafers sold out almost instantly after going viral and haven’t stayed in stock since, but they’re finally relaunching today – so you better be quick
With chocolate brown and suede both being the top trending styles for spring, it’s no wonder that when Marks & Spencer launched its brown suede loafers, they became an instant viral sensation. They sold out almost immediately, and despite a couple of restocks since they’ve been almost impossible to get your hands on.
However, if you missed out on them now is your chance because M&S has finally got the chocolate brown shade back in stock. They’re currently available in all sizes from a 3 to an 8, with half sizes available, but are expected to sell out almost immediately again so you’ll need to be quick to get your hands on a pair.

The Suede Loafers were such an instant viral hit thanks to their similarity to Saint Laurent’s Le Loafer Supple In Suede, which would set you back £820. Thankfully for fashion fans, Marks & Spencer’s version is nowhere near as pricey, costing £55 whilst still being made from 100% real suede.
They have a timeless design, with saddle strap detailing across the front and gathered ruching around the sides. The Suede Loafers also have a flat heel and M&S’ signature Insolia Flex, which makes walking in flats more comfortable by ensuring your foot is correctly placed within your shoes, and improving the natural rotational movement of the ball of the foot.
M&S shoppers have been singing their praises, with one saying: “After seeing these loafers on many different social media platforms being championed by many, I was delighted when I managed to purchase a pair in my size. I can 100% confirm that they live up to the hype. Not only do they look stunning, they are so comfortable too. Quality and fit both fab. Stunning shade of chocolate brown. A great addition to my wardrobe. These loafers are very versatile. They can be dressed up or down and can be styled with many different colour ways. Well done M&S, you have done it again. Absolutely slaying it.”
Another added: “So lucky to have found these in stock online as since a few influencers have posted on social media they sold out everywhere. Seriously are the most comfortable shoes I own , really on trend and a great price. If you can, buy them!”
Others found getting the right fit a little tricky, with one mentioning: “Stunning loafers very stylish, ordered my normal size 4 but they were too big, I would size down 1/2 size.”
Another agreed: “ Love these shoes, great dupe of a high end designer pair. Constantly going OOS, so had to stalk them. Eventually got a size 7 usual size! But they were much too big. I have now managed to get them in a size 6, so I would definitely recommend sizing down.”
If you didn’t manage to snap the M&S pair this time round, Schuh’s Lillian Penny Loafer in Brown is a great alternative, and also costs £55. Although it doesn’t have the ruching detail, it shares other similar design points, such as the strap across the front and chocolate brown colour.
If you’d been hoping to get your hands on M&S’ lighter tan pair to no avail, Anthropologie also has a similar pair, with the Maeve Brown Loafers. Retailing for £120 they have a full five star rating and come in a lighter shade.
