The trousers have been branded ‘so comfortable during the hot weather’
Marks and Spencer shoppers have branded a pair of trousers “the best summer buy this year”. The high street store offers plenty of options for refreshing your wardrobe.
Its Seersucker Pull On Wide Leg Trousers have stood out for many customers, who have left positive reviews. The £26 trousers come in either navy mix or brown mix and feature a striped pattern.
They have a drawstring fastening with an elasticated waist and pockets. Marks and Spencer stocks the popular trousers in sizes six to 24 with the option of extra short, short/petite, regular and long leg lengths.
The description reads: “Crafted from subtly striped seersucker fabric, these trousers look sophisticated while feeling super comfortable. Regular fit with breezy wide legs.
“A drawstring fastening on the stretchy high waistband helps you find the right fit. The material has added stretch for easy movement.”
Many shoppers are happy with their purchase, with one reviewer saying: “Best summer buy this year. These are the most comfortable, stylish, lightweight trousers ever.
“As they are seersucker, they are slightly crinkly, but they don’t crease. They have an elasticated waist with a drawstring fastening. I’ve worn them virtually every day since I bought them. They do come up long, so I’ve had to buy them in small/petite instead of my usual regular length.”
Another added: “Cool and comfortable. These are very easy to wear, fit well and look good. I’ve already bought a second pair. The label describes them as beachwear, but they don’t look out of place in a hot city.”
Someone else commented: “I love these. They were so comfortable during the hot weather, and the extra-short length is perfect for me. It seems it is perfect for many other people, too, as they are now unavailable in any size to suit me.”
A fourth wrote: “Excellent, my best summer buy. Fit great, no creasing and no need to iron. Just wish they had them in other colours.”
Despite the positive reviews, some shoppers thought the trousers looked too wide on them, and others thought they appeared slightly see-through.
One said: “I love these trousers. Only issue is they are a bit see-through.” Another added: “Just far too wide. Really did not look good on me being short.”
Marks and Spencer isn’t the only store to sell striped elasticated trousers. New Look has Striped Seersucker Wide Leg Trousers in yellow, red and blue.
They are currently reduced from £29.99 to £22.49 and feature pockets and an elasticated drawstring waistband. Meanwhile, George at Asda has Striped Wide Leg Co-ord Trousers for £18 in brown and light tan.
