The cardigan has been sold more than 100 times in the last five days, according to M&S
Shoppers are already refreshing their wardrobes for the new season, with many turning to lightweight layers that bridge the gap between winter and spring. As temperatures begin to shift, versatile pieces that can be styled now and worn later are proving especially popular.
For example, the M&S Cotton Rich Textured Cropped Cardigan is available for £36 on the website. This one comes in two different colours – chilli red and natural – and customers say it fits true to size in sizes extra-small to extra-large.
The cardigan has been praised for its easy-to-wear design and ability to work across both casual and smarter looks. The cotton-rich cardigan is crafted from a textured yarn that gives it a soft, cosy feel while remaining breathable enough for milder days.
Designed in a flattering slim fit, it features a cropped length that pairs neatly with high waisted trousers, skirts or jeans for a balanced silhouette. A smart collared neckline adds a more structured finish, while the short sleeves keep the look relaxed and seasonal.
The front fastens with a row of tonal buttons, creating a clean, co-ordinated appearance that can be worn fully closed as a top or layered over a camisole for a lighter spring outfit. If this isn’t the one for everyone, there is a cheaper option of the Tan Faux Fur Collar Cardigan for £23.99, down from £39.99, on New Look’s website.

Available in a range of colours, the tan variant comes in sizes 6 to 16, has long sleeves and ribbed cuffs, as well as a front button fastening. Next also has a unique cardigan up for grabs, with the Ecru 3D Bikes Soft Touch Chunky Knit Cardigan for £52.
This comes in regular sizes XS to 2XL, and is said to be a ‘soft touch chunky knit’ with a button-through font and ribbed cuffs and hem. But back to the M&S Cotton Rich Textured Cropped Cardigan, shoppers have left rave reviews.
One, who titled their review ‘getting ready for spring’, said: “Pretty and versatile top. Quality lovely and sizing true.”
Another commented: “Lovely cotton material. I like the short shape to go with wide jeans.” A third added: “I love this jumper, it’s super soft and fits perfectly. It looks really stylish, not too cropped and not too boxy, just right.”
Some people disagreed and said: “I’m really pleased with it. It’s a lovely red hue. I bought the medium, I’m a size 12/14, but could have tried the large one but kept it.”
Another added: “Love the shorter length of this top. Looks great with jeans or smart trousers. Has a look of the 1930s. The only problem is the bottom holes are too small. It has large domed buttons, which are a struggle to undo.”
