The Stormwear Padded Jacket is available in three wearable shades and shoppers say it ‘teams with many wardrobe items’ whilst protecting against showers
M&S shoppers have been hailing a £36 Stormwear jacket ‘classy and versatile’ – and it comes in three wearable colours. The Marks & Spencer Stormwear Padded Jacket is the ideal addition to a transitional wardrobe thanks to its budget-friendly price point and water-repellent ‘Stormwear’ technology that protects wearers from showers.
The jacket comes in three shades; beige, black and a dark burgundy, and is shoppable in UK sizes six to 24. M&S fans have awarded the jacket an impressive review score of 4.6 out of five stars and say it ‘fits true to size.’
One reviewer said: “Great jacket to throw on over a jumper when it’s chilly, warm but not bulky. I bought my usual size and it is a bit big but perfect for layering. I bought the burgundy and I like the brighter colour when the weather is grey.”
The jacket boasts a padded design ‘handy for chilly day layering’ and a flattering regular fit. Buyers will also benefit from added warmth from the cover-up’s internal quilting, and two front pockets for carrying essentials.
Other jackets ideal for a new season wardrobe include New Look’s £34.99 Quilted Padded Jacket and Nobody’s Child’s Black Quilted Detachable Scarf Coat which is on sale, cut from £120 to a mere £48.

Meanwhile, back at Marks and Spencer, and another fashion enthusiast who titled their review ‘smart, comfortable and very useful’ wrote: “Love this padded jacket. The colour is smart and will team with many wardrobe items, it’s soft without being floppy and not too bulky.
They continued: “My only grouch is that the sleeves are a little too long for me but probably fine for most ladies.” It is worth taking into consideration that one shopper mentioned: “Classy, versatile jacket but odd fit – too short in the shoulders and arms for me.”
Despite this, the jacket boasts mostly glowing reviews, with another fan writing: “Firstly the dark burgundy colour is gorgeous. It’s a style I wouldn’t normally buy but it looked great and can be pretty much be worn with anything either casual or formal. Good pockets. Silky soft material, just love it.”
