A food lover and Easter egg superfan insists people go and get a brand new Marks and Spencer’s chocolate treat – that is inspired by one of Britain’s most popular biscuits
Valentine’s chocolates are off the shelves, which means stores are onto the next big event of the year – Easter. People have been stunned by a new giant biscuit chocolate treat available this year.
You may have already seen plenty of Easter eggs in your favourite supermarket. Up to 90million Easter eggs are sold every year in the UK, according to Business Waste Management, with children receiving eight Easter eggs on average.
One store which always rolls out a selection of impress Easter egg designs is Marks and Spencer. Last year the supermarket rolled out a Easter egg shaped like Hedwig from Harry Potter and Flossy the Highland cow, as well as other animal-shaped treats.
This year, M&S has brought out a giant, chocolate egg versions of customers’ favourite biscuits – their ‘outrageously chocolately’ biscuit and ‘outrageously chocolately’ custard cream. One superfan rushed to get her hands on the Outrageously Chocolatey Custard Cream Biscuity Egg and has shared her verdict.
M&S has described the treat, and said: “Heard about our chocolate-covered custard creams? We’ve taken it one step further and turned into a one-of-a-kind Easter Egg, our Outrageously Chocolatey Custard Cream Biscuity Egg, which brings together the best of both worlds.
“A luxurious hollow milk chocolate shell is studded with crunchy biscuit pieces, revealing a rich, velvety centre of white chocolate and custard truffle.”
Food lover and content creator known as Eat with GG, who boasts over 984k followers on TikTok, said: “Could this be this year’s best Easter egg?” She bought the treat back in January and said: “I know it’s very early, but you guys know how much I love Easter eggs.” She said the treat looks “amazing” and she could not wait to dive in.
The exterior of the chocolate is milk, while inside there is white chocolate. “Oh my god, that is so creamy and delicious,” GG said. “The little specks of biscuit in the milk chocolate are really good,” she added. “The lining is crazy, oh my god.”
She said she paid £12 for the treat at an M&S in London, and she would get it again. Commenting on the individual, one person wrote: “This is a work of art. Need.” One other said: “I bought this the other day and OMG is so good.” “I’m gonna get one,” said another.
But others said it was not what they were expecting. “I really expected it to be filled with some kind of actual custard,” one pointed out.
One other added: “I was low-key hoping it would be full of cream or something.” One other commented: “I thought it was an actual custard cream with chocolate over it.”
