Marks & Spencer’s shoppers are racing to snap up a light and breezy linen top in multiple colours before it sells out, and it’s the perfect addition to your summer wardrobe
If you’re tired of wearing the same rotation of vest tops and T-shirts this summer, Marks & Spencer has just dropped the perfect solution. Smarter and more stylish than a tank top but with the same comfortable fit for the heat, the Linen Rich Lace Insert Button Detail Blouse is a great addition to your summer outfits.
It’s only £30, which makes it an affordable pick, and has a breezy sleeveless silhouette and a waistcoat-inspired design, without being restrictive. You can pick it up in three colours – peat, white and deep blue, which are all neutral enough to pair with anything in your existing wardrobe.

If you want to pick up the Button Detail Blouse you’ll have to be quick, though, as the white version has already sold out in almost every single size. The deep blue is also beginning to sell out in several sizes, but the peat shade – which is a chocolate brown colour with purple undertones – is still available in every size from six to 20.
It’s made from a combination of 55% linen which gives breathability and coolness, but the 45% viscose makes it less likely to look as creased and rumpled. As well as feeling comfortable to wear, the design is perfect for elevating a simple outfit.
It’s button up front gives it a slightly smarter feel, and the square neckline is finished with a dainty fold-over collar. The Button Detail Blouse is finished with lace inserts along the hem and at the tailoring points, making it a pretty and feminine pick for wearing everywhere from the office to a girls night out.

Although it has a simple relaxed silhouette, it has lovely tailored details around the bust which gives it a flattering silhouette, making it perfect for both work and casual.
However M&S’ Button Detail Blouse has a 4.7 star rating, with shoppers praising how versatile and comfortable it is. One reviewer wrote: “Love it! Such lovely material and a gorgeous fit. I got it in the brown and it’s such a warm, rich colour. Just love it.”
Shoppers also love it so much they’re buying multiple colours, with one writing: “I loved this blouse so much I bought the blue one also . You can dress it up or down which is what I love about it . It’s snug across the bust but I bought it in my usual size and it’s fine.”
And another said: “Very cool top ideal for this hot weather. Chose size 12 for a figure hugging snug fit. Bought in the blue and I might buy the white too.”
Some did find the sizing of the Button Detail Blouse a little off, and recommended sizing up for a more comfortable fit. One person said: “Sadly the sizing isn’t right. I would normally order a size 6 I ordered both sizes after reading the reviews , size 6 did not fit in the waist or the bust. i’m a 32D bust and I find the 8 a bit loose fitting. Hope this helps.”
With someone else adding: “Disappointed with the quality and overall appearance of the not quite white top. The navy one I ordered of the same design was lovely.”
However others loved the Button Detail Blouse, saying: “Love this, the fit is great and it’s so cool! It’s so pretty looking and is great under a jacket it in its own! You can wear a bra with it and perfect for holiday with its linen content.”
And someone else praised: “I love this top! It fits me perfectly and I’ve been wearing it all the time. The fabric is light and comfortable, with pretty lace details. I bought a size 16, and it fits my 38C–D bust really well, with no gaping and good coverage, so it’s also suitable for work.
