The first May bank holiday is nearly upon us and most supermarkets will be changing their opening hours this weekend.

But if you need a last-minute dash to the supermarket this bank holiday weekend, then you’ll be in luck, as supermarket stores will remain open – including Morrisons. We’ve rounded up typical opening times in our guide below, but as shopping hours vary across the country, you should also use the Morrisons opening times tool online to check your local store.
Morrisons will be open as normal on Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5. This means stores will be open at either 6am or 7am and close between 10pm and midnight. This includes Morrisons Daily stores which are the chain’s convenience store brand. Some are 24 hours, so will be open from midnight to midnight, and others are open from 6am until 11pm or midnight. Morrisons petrol stations will be open from 6:30am until 8:30pm.
On Sundays, larger Morrisons stores in England and Wales open at either 10am and 11am and close between 4pm and 5pm. Morrisons Daily stores will open from 7am until 10pm. From our research, Morrisons stores will open under their normal hours on Monday, May 6.
All Morrisons stores in Scotland, will also remain open and trading under their normal trading hours all weekend – this includes its smaller convenience ones and petrol stations. This is because the trading rules are different in Scotland and larger businesses can remain open on Sundays and bank holidays.
If you fancy some lunch out this bank holiday weekend, then you may want to consider Morrisons. This is because the supermarket chain is is offering shoppers the chance to earn 100 More Cards points for every £1 they spend at one of its 396 cafés and 19 Brew Bars. So if you spent £6 on the chain’s cafe meal deal then you could claim 600 Morrisons More Points.
