A missing mum who vanished at a church last month is presumed dead, according to police. Reanne Coulson, 34, was last seen on CCTV on May 21 leaving a food bank near St Mary and Benedict Church in Coventry.
A specialist search team, including police dogs, was deployed to search Binley Woods and neighbouring areas after “police intelligence” led them to the area. Police confirmed a third man, 38, had been arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice on Wednesday. Detectives have until Friday evening to charge or release a 42-year-old man who was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of Reanne’s murder.
“I know there are people in the area of Coventry that have information relating to her whereabouts,” Detective Superintendent Jim Munro said: “I ask that they come forward and speak to the police, that they look at other channels such as Crimestoppers to provide that information to allow us to locate Reanne, who we sadly now believe is deceased.
“We are continuing to work flat out to find Reanne, and get the answers that her family so desperately need,” he added. “I believe people in the Coventry area know what has happened to her. It may be that they are reluctant to come forward with information, but it’s vital that they do.
“Reanne is so loved by her family. Please do the right thing and help us find her, for their sake.”
Reanne’s mum, Lynne Sparks has issued an appeal to anyone who might have any information. She asked: “Is there anybody out there that knows anything about Reanne’s disappearance?
“From one parent to another, you can only imagine how I’m feeling. Please come forward to give our family some closure. I just want my baby back.”
According to the family, Ms Coulson had been a sex worker and said it was “out of the ordinary” for her to not return home.
“Reanne is not only my sister but my twin sister, a mother, a daughter and an aunt,” Ms Coulson’s sister Kirsten said during the press conference. “We are worried sick and need your help to find her. She is my other half, my best friend, my everything.
“I am just broken in two. We have a bond like no other. Our family are desperate, and we need your help to find her, no matter what, just bring her home.”
