Supermarkets and retailers including Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose have issued a string of urgent product recalls covering milk, brioche rolls, chocolate sweets, furniture and children’s toys.
A string of urgent product recalls has been issued in the past week or so by supermarkets and retailers across the UK, affecting everything from milk and brioche rolls to chocolate sweets, children’s toys and household furniture.
Product recalls are issued when an item is considered unsafe to consume or use. Shoppers who have purchased any of the affected products are urged to stop using them immediately and return them to the point of purchase for a full refund. In most cases, you will not need a receipt.

Penicillin found in Grahams Family Dairy milk
Grahams Family Dairy is recalling its Semi-Skimmed Milk after veterinary medicines, including penicillin, were found in the product.
The recall affects all one pint, one litre and two litre bottles with a best before date of 31 July 2026. Several major supermarkets stock this product, including Asda and Morrisons.
Those with an allergy to antibiotics, including penicillin, are at particular risk, though the product is considered unsafe for everyone to drink.
In a statement, Grahams Family Dairy said: “This is a precautionary measure we have taken as there is a small risk a trace level of antibiotics may be present in the milk which could cause a reaction to consumers with an allergy to antibiotics. We apologise for this issue and would like to reassure our customers no other Grahams Family Dairies products or Use By Dates are affected.”
If you have purchased this product, do not drink it. Return it to the retailer where you bought it for a full refund.
Metal and plastic found in Waitrose
Waitrose has recalled its Chocolate Chip Brioche Rolls after it emerged the product may contain pieces of hard plastic and metal, making it unsafe to eat. The recall affects the eight-roll pack with batch code B26177 and a best before date of 26 July 2026.
Customers who have purchased this product are urged not to eat it. Waitrose is asking shoppers to package the product up and return it to their nearest Waitrose & Partners branch for a full refund.
Chocolate sweets with undeclared milk and soya allergens
Bon Bons Wholesale Ltd is recalling a range of chocolate products after it was found they contain milk and soya that are not declared on the label. This poses a serious health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or soya.
The affected products and their best before dates are as follows:
Medium Coloured Ladybird – best before January 16 2028 and March 1 2027.
Small Red Ladybird – best before January 21 2027 and January 25 2027.
Large Red Heart – best before November 22 2027, December 23 2027 and December 26 2027.
Mini Butterflies – best before September 9 2027 and March 21 2027.
Sports Car – best before August 15 2027.
This recall notice is primarily aimed at wholesalers. If you hold any of this stock with the above best before dates, stop selling it immediately and return it to your supplier for a full refund.
Fire risk armchair recalled from Soho Home
A luxury velvet armchair sold by Soho Home has been recalled due to a fire hazard. The Blair Tub Rust Velvet Armchair was manufactured without the required fire-resistant inter-liner, meaning it may present a heightened risk if exposed to a naked flame. The product fails to meet the requirements of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.

Choking hazard for children’s musical toy
The Vilac Farm Musical Blocks, a set of colourful wooden blocks with farm-themed artwork, have been recalled after it was found that small parts can detach or break off during play. These parts are small enough to fit entirely within a small parts cylinder, presenting a choking hazard to young children.
The product has been recalled by retailer Bebeco, and affected customers have been contacted directly. The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) advises that anyone who owns this product should stop using it immediately and keep it away from children.
Doorstops and children’s toys may contain asbestos
Two separate products have been recalled after testing found they may contain traces of asbestos, a banned substance that poses a risk to health even at very low levels of exposure.
A range of novelty gingerbread-shaped doorstops sold under the Snow White brand are among the affected items. In addition, Wizz Toys has recalled its Dino Sand Stretchy Racers – stretchy dinosaur-shaped toys on wheels.

The OPSS advises that you safely double-bag and seal the item, along with any leaked sand and cleaning materials, while wearing protective gear, and then store it securely.
