The latest Epstein revelations have sparked chaos within the royal family, with the King issuing an unprecedented statement – but Meghan appeared care-free at a glitzy solo outing
The Duchess of Sussex made a bold solo appearance when she stepped out for a glitzy event in Los Angeles – and one move spoke volumnes.
While there was no sign of Prince Harry, Meghan was all smiles as she posed outside in a strapless gown. And now it’s been suggested that her wardrobe choice carried a deeper meaning.
The Sussexes have been keeping a relatively low profile as the royal family face its worst turmoil in decades. On Monday evening, the King released an unprecedented statement in which he expressed his ‘profound concern’ at the latest allegations against his brother Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

Thames Valley Police have confirmed they are assessing claims are that Andrew sexually assaulted a woman at his former Windsor home who was trafficked by Epstein and passed confidential information to him while working as a trade envoy. The former duke has repeatedly and vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
Thousands of miles away across the Atlantic, Meghan looked thrilled on Saturday night as she attended the 2026 Fifteen Percent Pledge Fundraising Gala, held at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. Beaming on the red carpet, she wore a bespoke creation from Harbison Studio and completed the look with an oversized black shawl and her signature slicked-back bun.
Harbison Studio is a luxury label by African-American designer Charles Harbison. And Meghan’s decision to endorse the label appears to send a subtle message of solidarity. The gala took place during Black History Month in the United States, adding further weight to her decision.
It comes after Meghan’s fans took to social media to defend her against accusations she had invited herself to the gala. The 44-year-old was previously alleged to have invited herself to Balenciaga’s Paris Fashion Week show last year.
The rumour appears to have stemmed from a flyer advertising the Fifteen Percent Pledge Gala at Paramount Studios, which listed BeyoncĂ©, Emma Grede, Aurora James and 11 other big names backing the event – but no mention of Meghan.
Meanwhile, it’s been claiimed that Meghan has made a ‘strict demand’ of Harry as the Epstein scandal rumbles on. With fears about the reputational damage Andrew and Fergie’s association could do to the rest of the family, former royal editor Duncan Larcombe told the Mirror this is especially true for Meghan, who is at a critical crossroads in her ambitions to build a megabrand.
“There’s no doubt the royal family are going through a crisis at the moment, one of the biggest crises they have had to face since the death of Princess Diana ,” Duncan said. “Meghan will be aware of how upset Harry is by what’s happened, and that it’s a difficult time for the royal family.
“But in a way she’ll probably be pleased that Harry has stayed out of it. I’m sure she’s telling him ‘keep your head down, don’t get involved, the royal family is in a crisis, don’t drag us into this’.”
