Tesco is trialling a new Clubcard promotion for some shoppers, which will require you to complete tasks to get extra points – however, not everyone will be chosen to take part
Martin Lewis’ MoneySavingExpert.com website has explained how millions of Tesco shoppers can get up to £50 in bonus Clubcard points.
The supermarket is trialling a new “Clubcard Challenges” promotion for some shoppers, which will require you to complete tasks to get extra points. For example, some of the challenges you may see include “spend £20 on our Summer BBQ range over the next six weeks” or “spend £10 on plant-based meals”.
If you’re chosen to take part, you’ll see 20 challenges available – but you will only have to complete 10 tasks to get the maximum of £50 worth of extra Clubcard points. The promotion will start on May 20 and will run for six weeks. MSE explained how shoppers should check their emails and the Tesco app to see if they’re eligible.
The MSE team wrote: “Tesco says the challenges will initially only be available to three million Clubcard holders who ‘regularly engage with Tesco digitally’ and who have opted in to receive marketing communications from it. If you’re chosen to take part, you should receive an email to the address you signed up to Clubcard with – though Tesco hasn’t said when these emails are being sent.”
Tesco customers can double these extra points to £100 if they spend them with a Tesco reward partner. There are over 100 reward partners to choose from, including Cineworld, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park and Zizzi. “Clubcard Challenges” will start on May 20 and run for six weeks.
Lizzie Reynolds, group membership and loyalty director at Tesco said: “We are constantly looking for ways to make Clubcard work harder for our customers. With Clubcard Prices on around 8,000 products, it is saving customers up to £360 off the annual cost of their groceries.”
