Shoppers have said the top has a ‘cool and comfortable feel’
Summer fashion is all about looking stylish, yet remaining cool and comfortable. It can be hard to know what to wear during the exceptionally hot weather, but many shoppers have turned to a vest from Marks and Spencer.
They have said it is ideal for the summer heat, either abroad or in the UK. It has been hailed as being comfortable, airy, and not compromising on style.
Marks and Spencer’s Vest with Linen comes in four different colours and sizes, from six to 24. Shoppers can pick from dark marine, black, white or beige.
It is priced at £20 and is made from 15% linen and 85% viscose. Marks and Spencer’s description reads: “This vest is crafted from fabric with a touch of breathable linen for a cool and comfortable feel.
“It’s cut in a regular fit, with a timeless round neckline and sleeveless silhouette. The button and keyhole fastening adds a neat finish at the back.”
Shoppers have been leaving positive reviews as one said: “Bought this for holiday and [it] is perfect, light and airy for hot weather. Am 5ft and is great to be able to buy a top that is not too long, and is true to size.”
Another added: “Simplicity of this top is what makes it so stylish and smart. Makes an outfit look more polished.” Someone else commented: “This is a lovely top for summer. Simple and perfect with wide-leg trousers.”
A fourth said: “The top is perfect as a stylish capsule piece for the summer. Loved it so much, brought another in the marine blue colour.” Another wrote: “Love, love, love these vests. Perfect cut and very stylish. I have [it] in multiple colours.”
A customer added: “The top is very nice and comfortable just what I needed for the hot weather it fits nice and a nice length too.” Despite the positive comments, some shoppers have struggled with the sizing and quality.
One said: “Returned the item due to poor quality. Disappointing.” Another added: “Nice top but sadly too cropped for me and sizing is not quite right, a bit on the small side.”
Someone else commented: “Material feels nice and soft, and the colour is perfect to match the linen trousers M&S sell, BUT the sizing is awful, I’m a size 12/14 on top, so I ordered a 14, it looked so small, more like a size 8/10 and looked short. I didn’t even try it as it was so small and have returned it. “
Matalan also has a linen-blend vest that comes in two colours. The Linen Blend Co-Ord Vest Top is priced at £14 and comes in blue or lime in sizes eight to 22.
Meanwhile, New Look’s Linen Blend Sleeveless Top in bright red and dark khaki has been reduced from £19.99 to £14. It also comes in white, which is now £14.99, and in pink, which is down to £7.
