Four young boys – aged 12 to 13 – have been arrested after the incident at Manchester Piccadilly on Monday as police call for witnesses to come forward
A 13-year-old boy has been stabbed at Manchester Piccadilly station, police confirmed.
The teenager was rushed to hospital on Monday afternoon after being attacked by the short stay car park. His injuries are not being treated as life-threatening or life-changing, British Transport Police said.
A boy, 13, was later arrested on suspicion of GBH (wounding with intent). Three other boys – one aged 13 and two aged 12 – were also arrested on suspicion of affray. They have all since been bailed as the investigation into the stabbing continues.
Detective Inspector Stephen Kite said: “This was a shocking incident that took place in broad daylight in front of a number of horrified onlookers. We have spoken to a number of witnesses alongside many other enquiries we’re working on, but we believe there may be other people who saw what happened and have yet to come forward.
“We also believe there were people who had been driving past who may have captured important dash cam footage showing what happened.
“I urge those people to make contact with us as quickly as possible. We will not tolerate violence on the railway network and will do everything we can to bring to justice those responsible.” The boy has has since been discharged from hospital.
