Police have discovered the body of a man in a tent near a Leicester Asda.
Officers with Leicester Police have cordoned off the area outside an Asda in Abbey Lane, Leicester, following the grim discovery, with blue screens having been in place since earlier this afternoon. While officers have indicated the death seems non-suspicious, it remains unexplained.
Leicestershire Live reported a representative for the force saying this evening: “At around 12.15pm today, Wednesday, December 4, a man was found deceased inside a tent in a car park on Exploration Drive, Leicester.” The spokesperson said the death did not appear to be suspicious, but it remains a mystery at present, with investigations now underway.
Should investigators be able to rule out criminal activity, the case will likely pass to the Leicester Coroner for an inquest, with police contributing any findings from their investigations to the coroner’s report. The force spokesperson added: “Enquiries continue to be carried out by police and although the man’s death does not appear to be suspicious, it remains unexplained at this time.”
