A man remains in a critical condition after police were called to the parkland in Ealing following reports of an altercation involving an axe at 5.29pm on Thursday, April 2
A man is fighting for his life after being attacked with an axe in Acton Park earlier this month.
Adam Abdillahi, 45, of Australia Road, Hammersmith and Fulham, was arrested on Thursday, April 9 on suspicion of attempted murder. He was charged on Friday, April 10 and appeared at Ealing Magistrates’ Court on the same day where he was remanded in custody.
A second man, aged 44, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Saturday, April 4. He was later bailed.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Police were called to the parkland in Ealing following reports of an altercation at 5.29pm on Thursday, April 2.
“Met officers attended and provided immediate first aid to a 31-year-old man, who was found on a footpath with a stab wound to his back. He was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
“Met detectives are appealing for anyone who has information to get in touch.”
Detective Inspector John Gillespie, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts remain with the man and his family as he continues to receive medical treatment. This incident took place towards the bottom of the park, close to a busy main road, tennis courts and a mini golf course. If you were nearby and saw anything, or captured any footage on your phone, please come forward and speak to police.”
