Police say the 48-year-old man suffered a “short illness” following the attack on April 18 in Middlesbrough and has since passed away
A man who was horrifically dragged from his mobility scooter and attacked by a group of thugs has sadly died. It is believed the assailants got out of a BMW vehicle in Middlesbrough before knocking the victim unconscious.
The force is now appealing to any members of the public who may have information that can help their investigation.
A full statement read: “Police are appealing for information on an assault that happened on the evening of Friday 18th April in Middlesbrough.
“The suspects got out of a black BMW on Deepdale Avenue near to the junction with Grassington Road and assaulted the 48-year-old victim.
“The man was dragged from his mobility scooter and knocked unconscious during the attack.
“Following a short illness, the victim has since sadly passed away.
“Police are asking witnesses, or anyone with doorbell footage, CCTV or dashcam to come forward.
